iSkin

July 27th, 2005 by some dude

In case anyone cares, iSkin makes good iPod cases, if you want the silicone type. They have a pretty neat screen cover design where you can actually see the screen (wow, who’d uh thunk). So obvious, yet impressive after trying a different brand with a thin plastic screen cover that sticks to the screen and does that bubbly half-stuck half-not filmy can’t-see-through-it thing.

Also rediscovered the fatal flaw of iTunes/iPod, and I think very MP3 player that exists so far - gapping between tracks. Live concert albums, Dark Side of the Moon, classical music, the first track on Get a Grip, and anything else where you want a smooth transition get totally ruined. Since almost half my music is live stuff, that’s a big bummer. Apple, fix that junk. Yeah, I know I could rip the CD as one track, but that’s just retarded.

iPod in ia icar

July 8th, 2005 by some dude

I want to get an iPod. I want to listen in my car. I don’t have a tape player. Those radio adapters don’t work. There are kits to connect the iPod to the CD changer ports on factory stereos. Pretty cool, but they cost too much.

I found iPod Install in 2001 Honda Civic on “Ben’s Weblog.” Nice. And cheaper. I don’t need to control the iPod from the stereo. Just need to get the sound in. Sweet.

After all that, I find Apple’s page. Great. I swear I looked earlier and they didn’t have anything.

(p.s. The Andy Milonakis Show seemed promising, but it might suck instead.)

Update (2006-08-10): Huh… Looks like I never wrote what I actually ended up getting. I got the Blitzsafe “HON/M-Link1 DMX V.1 1998-2005″ Honda-to-iPODĀ® Interface from Logjam Electronics. It works great—just like listening to the factory CD player. And super easy to install—it plugs right in to the factory player’s CD changer jack.
