Name her Ashley. When Laura calls, you’ll both come running!

  2. Aya Says:

You should name her Licorice. Can I have her? Thanks.

  3. some dude some dude Says:

Our ideas were Dule (”Dooley”), or Kuma (Japanese for bear).

Mom thought Onyx. Dad thought Kurosuke (as in makkuro kurosuke, the dust bunnies from My Neighbor Totoro), but that’s a boy’s name.

  4. some dude some dude Says:

Oh yeah our other contender is Noe. But it sounds close to “No”. Could just say “bad” instead … plus it’s supposed to be used sparingly anyway—the positive reinforcement thing.

  5. Tuffy Says:

Dooley. Failing that, an 80’s ish lady’s name: like Sandra, or Jeneane.

  6. courtney Says:

CUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTE!!!!! So you’ve got a house and a puppy, huh? When did you get all growed up?

Love the idea of Noe… but agree that it could get confused with No.

    What about Kookez?

  7. some dude some dude Says:

Aya, is the dog enough to make you visit when you’re here to see your friends? Since you always seem to hop right over wherever I live at the time.

Kookez … Grandpa Jim’s biscuits and gravy mmmmmmmm.

  8. Aya Says:

WTF is Onyx…? Please don’t name her that. Hey, this spring break I’m staying in Tokyo so I can find a J.O.B. so you won’t have to yell at me for not visiting you while I’m in the States. BUT… I’ll visit in the summer?

  9. Tuffy Says:

    Ginny 2?
Onyx is great, especially if it is a Strangers With Candy reference.

gah!!!! look at the cute puppy!!!! i have to have it. now. Noe is cute, and even though I hate people who use this name for the city, but what about Frisco? I think it is stupid to say that instead of San Francisco or SF, but it could be a cute dog name. Also, you can’t go wrong with Batman. How cute would that be, a little puppy named Batman? If you wanted something more feminine, there’s Dahlia (like the flower), Betty (whoa, Black Betty, bam-ba-lam), Jem (truly outrageous), Kitt (like the Night Rider car, who might have been a dude, whatever), or Sasha (because it is pretty).

  11. christine christine Says:

actually, Kitt is not such a good idea. I mean, it’s a great name, and it gives homage to The Hoff, but it sounds too much like “sit.” Dogs have a hard time differentiating among phonetically-similar sounds. You could always give her a more ironic name, like Sunshine. Or a badass name, like Storm. Or a mythical name, like Maia, the prettiest of the seven Greek nymphs.

    ok, back to work…

    puppies!!!

Cole… or maybe Coal. Then again Teaka, although that was a name of a dawg I had. A black Chow, but it was spelt Tika. She cost me many of dolla.

    Hey what about, Obamama.
    eerrrr…. okay! sorry…

  13. Crazy Lou Crazy Lou Says:

    Cole… or maybe Coal. Coley!
