Don't kill all of them. Remember that ants send out scouts. So you should kill most of them, but always leave a few scouts that are maimed, but still able to make it back to their camp. That way they'll make their report and warn the other ants that it's too dangerous to go where they just returned from. If you kill all the ants, they'll just keep sending more scouts.
